BRITTON SMITH
Britton Smith, a musical artist, actor and President of Broadway Advocacy Coalition, leads the acclaimed funk band "Britton & The Sting," delivering sold-out performances at iconic venues like Apollo Music Cafe, Rockwood Music Hall, and Joes Pub, and most recently premiered their commissioned original work, "MAMA" at Little Island, exploring connections between water and humanity. Their music has garnered recognition from Vanity Fair, Vogue, Fault Magazine, and The New Yorker. Notably featured in Paper Magazine's "Bops Only" and NPR Tiny Desk Submission Top Pick. As the Co-Founder/President of the Tony Award-winning Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC), Britton unites art with advocacy, addressing crucial policy issues. Acting credits include STARZ's "Run the World" and Broadway hits like "Be More Chill" and "Shuffle Along." A featured soloist on PBS 50th Anniversary Great Performances. Currently, Britton is developing a REVIVAL Tour with The Sting and exploring the mystical relationship between Black Gay men and their Grandmothers. Jonathan McCrory is a Tony Award winning, Emmy Award nominated producer, and two Obie Award-winning, Harlem-based artist who has served as Executive Artistic Director at National Black Theatre since 2012 under the leadership of CEO, Sade Lythcott. He has directed numerous professional productions and concerts. He has been acknowledged as an exceptional leader additionally through Craine’s New York Business 2020 Notable LGBTQ Leaders and Executives. In 2013, he was awarded the Emerging Producer Award by the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and the Torch Bearer Award by theatrical legend Woodie King Jr. He is a founding member of the collaborative producing organizations Harlem9, Black Theatre Commons, The Jubilee, Next Generation National Network and The Movement Theatre Company. McCrory sits on the National Advisory Committee for Howlround.com and was a member of the original cohort for ArtEquity.
