SARAH JONES: AMERICA, WHO HURT YOU
05.22 - 05.23
Theatre, Schwarzman Centre, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GG, UK
Who gets to tell the story of America?
A bold and bitingly funny new take on the live experience and podcast from Tony Award-winning Sarah Jones.
Known for her ability to portray a wide range of characters across race, gender, age and class, Sarah conjures a cast of vivid voices from the last 250 years of American history. Each character confronts the challenges of politics, power and identity, helping us try to make sense of the America of today.
Part scripted, part improvised, and grounded in conversations between Sarah, her characters, and Oxford academics, the show mixes sharp satire and cultural critique as it tells the story of the moment we’re in, and how we got here.
