On June 18 — the birthday of our visionary founder, Dr. Barbara Ann Teer, we are thrilled to celebrate the exclusive world premiere broadcast of “The Gathering: A Journey to Grace” on PBS.
In 2024, National Black Theatre partnered with the Kennedy Center to bring together over 3,000 artists and community members for a groundbreaking, genre-defying concert experience. “The Gathering: A Journey to Grace” fuses orchestral, choral, gospel, and soul music into a week-long celebration of Black excellence and creative spirit. This broadcast offers a rare look behind the scenes of this cultural event featuring extraordinary artists including Nona Hendryx, Toshi Reagon,Carlos Simon, Mahogany L. Browne, Abby Dobson, Courtney Bryan, Troy Anthony, and Joel Thompson.
