Liberation of a People: The Resilience

Disrupting norms, forging new paths, and honoring your roots — these are the core principles of NBT’s original Liberators who founded the National Black Theatre company and set the mission for the next generation of Black artists. Join us as we connect our legacy to our future. Featuring inaugural SOUL Directing Resident and director of 125th&FREEdom, Ebony Noelle Golden, cast members Alec Stephens III and SheShe Dance, as well as two of NBT’s original Liberators, Ayodele Moore and Adé Faison.
Black to the Future: Building a tommorow

Join us as we talk with former I AM SOUL residents about envisioning a new future and exploring how to create radically free black spaces. Featuring former I AM SOUL Playwrights Angelica Chéri, Lee Edward Colston II, and Mfoniso Udofia, former SOUL Producing resident Ngozi Anyanwu, and current SOUL Directing resident Dominique Rider. Moderated by ChelseaDee, NBT Co-Curator.
The Revival is Coming

Join us for a symposium of queer Black community leaders who are dedicated to radical healing through communal acts of jubilation. Featuring writer and social justice facilitator adrienne maree brown, singer, composer, and musician Toshi Reagon, and founding Executive Director of The HOPE Center, Pastor Kyndra Frazier.
