Anthony T. Goss

I Am SOUL Playwright Residency

Anthony Goss is a playwright and actor from Boston, Ma, based in New York City. He was a resident writer with the Liberation Theatre Company 23/24. His play Castling was a finalist for the Capital Rep Theatres New Play Summit and a finalist and winner of the Premiere stages new Play Festival, in which he will receive a 29 hour development workshop. His play Out of Bounds was a semi-finalist for the Eugene O’Neill playwright conference 2024. He is a playwright for the 48 hours in Harlem play festival 2024. As an actor, he has appeared in TV, Film and stages all over New York City and regionally. He has written numerous short films that have screened in festivals in the United States. His work usually examines the intersection between sports and socio/political/economic forces and how these forces affect black families, black communities and black identity. He is developing a non profit youth theatre initiative in Boston. His mission is to create works that build bridges of empathy, provoke new perspectives, encourage healing, and inspire the youth and the next generation of theatre artist. He played college basketball and is an avid Boston Celtics fan. He is thankful to the ancestors for guiding him to NBT, his new creative home.
